Pure, Organic Honey from Healthy Bees
Education and Advocacy Honey has a vast array of health benefits, but did you know many bees are treated with antibiotics?

Healthy bees, healthy honey — this simple message guides Canadian company, Oneroot Honey.
The retailer was founded on the idea that single-source, organic raw honey could benefit bees and the environment they need to thrive, as well as consumers seeking a responsible choice for honey.
“Our goal from the beginning was to return to the original roots of beekeeping,” says CEO Kevin Park. His father, a beekeeper in Korea for over 40 years, brought his sustainable ethos to Canada when he started his own apiary in 1997.
The company’s honey is produced by bees in the Peace River Valley region of Alberta and in Thornloe, ON. The remote northern locations were chosen for their distance from conventional farming, pesticides, and other contaminants.
Natural flavours, major benefits
Honey is naturally antimicrobial, antiviral, and anti-inflammatory, Park explains, so it’s important that their honey is never heated or pasteurized. This allows for the preservation of the natural enzymes and traces of pollen in honey that offer a range of digestive health benefits. “It’s considered a healthy ingredient, so purity is important,” he says.
The apiary’s honey always comes from a single source — the company doesn’t even mix its Alberta and Ontario honey in an effort to preserve the subtle variations in flavour lent by the different flowers in both regions. Much of the honey on Canadian shelves is a blend sourced from places like Argentina or China, Park notes. Unbeknownst to many, the Canada No. 1 label can be applied even if the honey is only bottled in Canada.
